3 day weekend!
rmbr when i said in my last post that i was coughing a lot and everything? well, even though i went to see the MO twice in this week alone, it got worse. went to see the doctor near my place today, and she confirmed that i had a throat infection. she was surprised that it didnt spread to my lungs or anywhere else, since i’ve had my sore throat for 2 weeks already. apparently, despite the terribly raw and swollen throat i have, my immune system was strong enough to prevent sth much worse (:
so other than the massive amount of area cleaning we did this week, a pretty ripoff company tshirt (which ended up with my 4D number - 1109 on it because of a terrible typo) and platoon photo, in addition to the failed games day because of the terrible weather and unstoppable rain, and a thursday night bookout because of the a level results release today, there was really nothing much that happened this week.
the much hyped about "recruits night" occurred on bookout night, and it was alright i suppose. whiskey, ulysses and scorpion were the only companies that put up performances, taurus and viper didnt have anything at all. whiskey totally deserved to win, with the massive amount of effort put into the choreographing and planning of the performance, plus the pretty awesome execution (i saw you dancing jlow!). mdc is pretty good though, save for the sleazy dancing and terrible shit sound system. i’d understand that 1000 hormonal young men would obviously respond rather positively to the whole scantily dressed girls thing, but it was ridiculous. and honestly, the fusion band playing some chinese music for such an occasion is seriously too out of place. so in the end, i really felt like it was just this huge waste of time before our bookout for the most part.
anyway, we managed to book out on thursday night courtesy of all the dudes receving their a level results. from what i heard, hwa chong did pretty well, earning themselves a half day on tuesday. raffles didnt fare too badly either, straight As for most as far as i’ve heard. but with a massive thursday night bookout comes a major problem… too damn many ppl for the ferries. my platoon was actually split because the ferry was already carrying beyond it’s maximum capacity, and half my platoon was stuck on the island while the rest of us took the ferry back to mainland. by the time we arrived, it was already 11. the ppl that had to take public transport home were seriously just rushing like mad to catch the last bus/train.
i would also like to swear loudly at the inconsiderate parents who park before/at the pasir ris interchange bus stop where the bus alights all the ns boys at this point in time. your kid is NOT the onli one that has to go home, and neither are you the onli parent waiting for your dear son to get back after a week of absence. so please, stop being so freaking inconsiderate and get your vehicles away from the bus stop, so that the bus driver has an easier time getting there, without having to hit his horn like 3217489 times, waking up the entire neighbourhood at the same time, while enduring the shouting of the 50ish frustrated and tired other males in the bus with him.
anyway, meeting up with fish, cheuk ho, jono and janice for dinner at new york new york tonight was pretty nice. although we were talking abt army stuff like 80% of the time (sorry jono and janice), it was really nice to see everyone again and to just sit down to catch up. it’s weird to think that we havent seen each other for abt 2 months already, and it still feels like yesterday since we last met up. i miss school terribly right now heh, suddenly ee and tok doesnt seem that bad in comparison to the shithole we’re in now.
ok time to rest up and recover from this sickness once and for all. screw you, tekong bacteria.
